Word of the day

Emphatic: forceful, insistent

Used in a sentence: "no, no, no, NO Mommy"

(Otherwise known as the Mommy slap)

Miss Understood

heeheehee.. your momma dresses you funny!
Today I picked out a tshirt with angel wings on the back, a pink bow, jeans with monkeys on the back and my trusty vans. Hot mess from the front, totally rad from the back. Kinda like a mullet.

Mommy left me at home this past Saturday so she could go party. Well, kinda. She said it was a "Sip & See" for Baby Trace and that shorties were invited. But she was a hostess and suggested that maybe I stay home.

Waiting for Spring

Ok...ok..ok.. ENOUGH already! I am cold!

Today was Ash Wednesday, which despite all the talk about penetance and compunction, I can't help but remember Easter is coming! And Easter makes me happy. Mommy must have sensed this, she decorated our table in anticipation. (that and have I mentioned that Mommy is a tad dorky?? I mean, I love her.. but hard-core dork)

Anyway - here is the table, not much to it, but it makes me smile:

wide and BRIGHT:

I showed THEM....

I like two pacys. Not one, (although three is acceptable), but TWO. And I like them all day long.

Mommy and Daddy say that pacys have to go "night-night" during the day. This is bogus information. I have pulled one of my handy-dandy stools over to my crib before to reach inside and rescue them from their slumbers.

They were wide awake.

Now Mommy and Daddy hide them from me during the day. But last night I found them. BOTH of them. And when Mommy and Daddy tried to say they were only for night-night, I simply went to bed. That will show them! Oh, wait...

Valentines Day and Krewe of Highland

I LOVE MARDI GRAS!!

After the parade on Saturday, I woke up Sunday morning to this:

Then Mommy and I baked cookies for all my friends that would be at the parade later!
Then after a nap, we went to the Highland Parade:

And because I danced for the floats passing by, they threw me a TEDDY BEAR!!
It was cold - so some of us went back to Mia's house for Jambalaya and WARMTH:

Krewe of Welch

Every year we celebrate my friend Audrey's birthday during Mardi Gras season. Her parents live on the route of one of the big parades and have a "Kiddie Parade" prior to - with King Cake, Keg Beer, Porta-Potties and a band! It's the little things...

We won third place for our "Horton Hatches The Egg" float! Which was alot better than I think we deserved. I might have gotten the sympathy bid for my shiner.

Mommy and Daddy still think it is ironic that I got beat up on the day I wore to Clemson gear to school. But anyway.

You should see the other kid...

My boyfriend "The Boy" still loves me, even with my black eye. And in his defense, he DID tell me TWICE...

Super Bowl Party Geaux Saints

Mommy has waaay too much time on her hands.. she needs to stop playing hostess for the game tomorrow and serve me lunch!
I can smell the chili she is cooking, an Indianapolis batch (mild) and a New Orleans batch (SPICY!)
I am a Saints fan, but I may have to go with the Indianapolis chili.
GEAUX SAINTS!

Ballet Schmallet

After the Mardi Gras Bead Head Trauma/nose bleed incident - Mommy signed me up for ballet lessons.
I know - I'm only two, so why the rush? She says it will add to my coordination (she worries she passed her clumsiness down) - but I really think she just wants something to do and I have to play the role of Puppet.

Regardless - she called and got the times. She recruited my Godmother and Godsister, too. Sorry Elizabeth.

Classes started at 5:30 so Mommy arrived a little early for paperwork. The lady said that my teacher will come out at 5:30 and call the "Youth Ballet" back to the classroom. Mommy wasn't allowed to go back with me, but they pointed out which camera to watch on the big screen.

At 5:45 no one had called me back. Mommy went to ask and they told her the class had been cancelled MONTHS ago and returned her check.

I'm not allowed to repeat what Mommy said after that, but I distinctly remember a dog howling in the background. I love doggies...

Once bitten, twice... well bitten

Dude -someone bit me yesterday. And I don't mean a little love nip - I mean fulfledged bruised grill imprint on my forearm. Like a tattoo, only ugly. And painful. Jerk.

Daddy gave me candy. Mommy thinks I might have had it coming...

Update & belated resolutions

Mommy had to update her profile. She forgot she had a birthday and is now 33, not 32. Can you imagine? It made me think: "what are a few things I would like to accomplish before I turn 33?", but then I remembered I hadn't even made New Year Resolutions. So, I decided to that instead.

H.R.H's 2010 resolutions:

-Reach the top shelf

-Shoes (can that be a resolution? I think it should be)

-Stop hitting my head so much

-Start a pacifier making machine. So I can ALWAYS have one in hand, you know, just in case

-Catch LJ (dude, he is fast)

-Have a tea party

-Learn how to use a corkscrew

-Start a rockband

-Meet Nemo

That is all.

Mardi Grass Head Trauma

There are a few lessons I have learned in my two short years of life, one is them is to be careful how many Mardi Gras beads you wear at one time.

Aside from being a bit garish - I like the clinky sound they make when I jump up and down wearing, oh say, twenty necklaces.

But here lies the problem: Mardi Gras beads are not as light as you may expect. Especially specialty beads.

'Graceful' is not one of the many adjectives Mommy uses to describe me - so while running around with my beads I inevitably tripped and hit my head against the dresser drawer. OWWWWWIE!

I recovered shortly, however Mommy was in for a treat this morning when she woke me up around 8am. My nose had bled EVERYWHERE. And since I have never had a nosebleed before, Mommy immediately thought that my ears were bleeding and I had head trauma. A few frantic calls to the Doctor, My Jenny Claire and My Daddy - she calmed down.

Wednesday I start Ballet lessons. Not sure the coorelation between these two events, but I have a sneaking suspicion there is one.
